BIRDS 'N' BOTS

These are the paintings which found their genesis in a simple still life of a tin toy robot during my sojourn with 'a painting a day' project in 2007. I combined my bird paintings with some of my tin toy robots to create scenarios of 'lost technology in nature'. Some images are fun and quirky, others are of a more serious and refined character, borrowing from my wildlife paintings and themes. Since then, my Birds 'n' Bots paintings have taken on a life of their own...and show no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
