Linda Graves Bio (2013)
After graduating from San Jose State University, with a degree in illustration, I began my freelancing career. For the past 30 years, I’ve been illustrating books for children, as well as posters, cards, calendars, and other various projects. My latest book is “Sister Bear” written by Jane Yolen. In all, I’ve illustrated forty books.
My primary interest, however, has always been in fantasy, fairytales, and folklore. About 12 years ago I began a series of paintings based on the depiction of brave women in the fantasy realm, some based on folktales and fairytales, and some based on my own imagined stories.
As a member of NESFA, ASFA, and World Fantasy organizations, I’ve shown at these conventions and have won awards. In 2013, I showed in the Showcase at Illuxcon. Two years ago, my work was included in Fantastic Worlds in Kenosha, WI. The Eric Carle Museum has shown my work many times, painting as well as sculpture.
