Infected By Art Book - Volume 3

My name is Emily Crowley. I'm attempting to make it as an oil painter in the fantasy illustration business. I was trained at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit and at Lorenzo de' Medici in Florence, Italy. Color in nature is what most inspires me, and I love to push the purity of the hue in those natural colors to help the viewer see what I see. However, the figure is my favorite subject to paint because it constantly presents drawing challenges and color choice opportunities that are fascinating for me. Also, the challenge of expressing emotion in a two dimensional painting such that the viewer can identify with the emotion itself is definitely what drives my constant journey to become a better artist. These three works submitted are a culmniation of these passions, and what I think is indicative of my work as a whole thus far in my career.
