Artist bio:
I grew up in the wonderfully spooky city of New Orleans. My mom told me that I drew before I talked. I don't know about that, but I do know that while other kids were running about in the fresh air, I was huddled inside, first reading then trying to illustrate the stories that I loved.
After graduating from the University of New Orleans with a B.A. , I immediately began working as a Mardi Gras float designer/ painter. I worked on my own paintings here and there, but didn't really decide exactly what it was that I wanted to do until I moved to Los Angeles in 1996.I began working as a scenic artist/set painter for television shows, theme parks, commercials, movies...great way to make a living ( even though the hours are long and the work can be brutal), but you spend all your time producing someone else's vision, and after a number of years, I decided that just wouldn't do. So now I work on my own artwork and only venture out once a year or so to paint backdrops for a performing arts college. Life is good.
