KRING Demetrio is an illustrator based in Cebu City, Philippines. 

 

Kring’s passion for visual storytelling began with her early fascination for her grand-uncle's folkloric museum. It housed her father's archaeological finds and exhibited surrealist, historical, and fantastical paintings by local artists which continue to deeply inform her work. 

 

She creates interior and cover illustrations for books, magazines, and similar visual media that evoke a sense of eerie intrigue and sometimes macabre. Her constant aspiration is to portray themes of Philippine culture, pre-colonial folklore, world mythology, and her own queer experiences within her images.
