Sovereign (they/them) loves drawing phantasmagoric worlds, strange spirits, and erotic tomfoolery. They are a queer southern artist channeling intuitive impulses, daydreams, and emotions into surrealistic drawings and paintings inspired by the occult, music, folklore, nature, erotica and all that lurks in the liminal spaces of the subconscious. Their process often incorporates ecstatic dance and meditation before putting pencil to paper, giving space for visceral and vulnerable feelings to surface one mark at a time across the page, a form of intuition-driven drawing. Their art centers otherness, tenderness, mysticism, the macabre, and the exploration of our most deviant desires.

They work both traditionally and digitally across multiple mediums though graphite is their one true love. When not in their hermit hole, they can be found wandering oC to faraway lands, whispering to moss, and writing questionable poetry.
