"We all sat around the fire, watching the heat from the flames prepare our food. It was cold outside, very cold, so the children, old and their look afters sat close to the warmth emanating from the coals. The elder of our group stirred it with a damp branch so it wouldn't catch fire, something we learned the hard way. The small man jumped on the meat we cooked, he says,"It release juice makes tasty". The meat was different than our normal catch, usually big beasts, deer, wolf or the odd rabbit. Food is scarce now in winter, nothing grows, very little game, so we eat what nature gives "
