For this piece, I was watching a video on the myth of the Snow or Ice Queen, and how she appears across different stories, from Hans Christian Anderson, to Narnia, to Disney. I wanted to capture that character when she's young, testing out her power. I found a model who took some photos for me, which worked out well during lockdowns. That was critical to getting the turn on her ankles right. This started as graphite, into Procreate, into Photoshop.
