I took inspiration from the old english folktale of 'the Knucker' for this piece. A flightless water dragon that lived in deep pools and preyed upon local livestock and villagers. I took this concept and decided to use elements from the greater crested newt and sand lizard which are native to the Uk. I pushed the fantasy idea more, made it more monstrously sized and placed it within an acrid swamp with bubbling acid pools.
