Description

Anya's Starvation, 18x21. Pen and Ink on Watercolor Paper. A piece depicting a chess player who is plagued by her negative thoughts manifested into a shadowy creature. Fun Facts: - Named after Anya Taylor-Joy, the actress who played Beth Harmon in Queen's Gambit. - The placement of chess pieces you see in the work is actually based off of a real documented tournament chess game: Edward Lasker vs. George Alan Thomas, 1911.
