First piece in April ' 17 An experiment with light, shape and texture on this one. I' m still wrestling with the square format, but filling it with beauty comes easier to me these days. One important thing in this study was to get a more stylized approach to portraiture and also get better with hard and soft edges. Still not there yet, but I' m learning a thing or two with each new piece wink Apart from playing with texture and the bold hair shape, I explored some lighting effects to change the mood of the painting towards a late afternoon. The colors complete the impression that it could be a sunny autumn day.
