Ink & graphite pencils, 2015 My idea behind this work links together with my previous Poison-series. Where the poisonous plants for me showed a metaphor for love, how it weights between being the most beautiful thing in the world and of being the most painful thing. And that sometimes it can feel like you love someone so much, that the love itself could poison you, maybe even to death. This work is even more an insight of one's own psyche, how one's own mind can drive you so far towards the edge, when it comes to love but also in life itself. This was one of those work processes that just took forever and I felt constantly blind for what was before my eyes. Maybe because this work is in a different scale than what I'm used to, but over all it was a challenge. My ambition was to make it my best work I'd done so far. But I can't tell you if it became that or not, I will have to let my wounds heal from working with it first.
