Full page illustration for my personal project.
Yggdrasil is the world tree, which was the centre of cosmos in Norse mythology. Its roots and branches reached to all the nine worlds and the three main roots were in Asgard, Jotunheim and Niflheim). Hraesvelg the Wind-Giant is the giant eagle that dwells in the barnches of Yggdrasil. From his wings comes the north wind Technical detail about this painting - not a single drop of white or black color is used. Everything is mixed between cold and warm colors (the darkest is payne' s gray).
