Knight (Chevalier) Of Earth _ Tarot Of Loka Created for the Tarot of Loka. Original artwork avaialble through the Kickstarter campaign. Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/Ralph.Horsley.Art You can get yourself a fantastic deck of playing/tarot cards, and also some of my original artwork through backing this kickstarter project: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1428582690/the-tarot-of-loka I have teamed up with Alessio Cavatore, a leading game designer (whose credits include working on Warhammer) to produce a very playable new card game based upon the Tarot, but working like a playing card deck. I have already produced quite a few pieces of artwork for the game, and am looking forward to painting the rest, once you' ve backed the campaign. This is an exciting project for me as it has allowed me to explore an aspect of my work I don' t always get a lot of chance to develop, namely a detailed, design based, graphical approach, which aims to capture a traditional playing/tarot card feel but with a contemporary twist. The artwork is made using acrylic wash and line work to help with that feel. Another fun part is that all the images need to work ' mirrored' , which creates it' s own unique and dynamic look. The suits are based around the four elements of Earth, Air, Fire, and Ice and each has their own fantastical take on the more usual King, Queen, Jack, etc. Additionally they relate to their Tarot equivalents of wands, cups, etc, whilst I will also be producing cards for all the Tarot Major Arcana. This Kickstarter has some unique incentives, including the chance to own some of the original Artwork, or even have me create a card based upon your own request. It is worth following the link anyway if you' d like to see videos where I talk about my work, and show off some of the paintings stored in the spare room! Thanks, Ralph
