The term magic has two related meanings; first, it refers to a supernatural force or energy described as “the essence of life and creation,” and second, it refers to the practice of harnessing this force to produce changes in reality. Most supernatural entities, and some mortals, are capable of wielding magic, and those who shape and utilize these energies are referred to, generically, as mages…

This series features images of mages, and my attempts to capture the ephemeral and ethereal in physical form.

If magic is the essence of life and creation, then its proper use, in balance with nature, should bring with it a sense of wholeness and astonishing joy: a lift to the spirits like nothing felt before… a overwhelming desire to shout, to laugh, to sing! A marvelous feeling of rightness!

My goal is to strike a chord in the user, to inspire, and intrigue… to hint at possibilities that spur motivation to achieve greater heights of passion, wonder and connection with the magic that is all around us in the universe.
