Gallery Home Personal Info New Art Gallery Rooms Contest Entries Send a MessageI have a love of nostalgic golden era science fiction art, movies and books....many of which feature the characteristic 'pointy rocket ship' and lurid planetary scapes and space scenes. So, when I have leftover paint on my palette and a bit of inspiration, I pop a little canvas onto my 12" easel and start painting. I'm reticent to waste oil paint at all, so I get in the nostalgic groove and paint away. I have even been inspired by things around my studio...my husband left a book on Russian artist, Ivan Aivazovsky laying on the floor near his easel, and because I had my reading glasses on, the cover was somewhat blurred. However, the COLOURS electrified me...and a little Saturn painting ensued. Lately, though, I have been asked to create bigger rocket doodles so they can be used for print...
