These artwork was done as a personal work for my portfolio. I was looking for an illustration to describe a szene were a little girl gets in contact with a faun. Actually the faun should hand over a " magical thing" like a golden key or an old book to the child. But during the painting process this idea seems to me very kitschy and banal. So I changed to the idea that the little girl shoud hand over something to the faun. Since I like to paint animals I thought a birdie would be nice because you and all the other viewer can create an own story what is behind the scene, what' s happened with this bird and why he will be handed over to the faun. The fox is like an " agent" in this scene, from the composition point of view he brings the child and the faun together. But is he the companion of the child? Or the servant of the faun? It' s up to you! Not to be clear always makes artwork more interesting.. )
