Gallery of Kelley Hensing

Kelley grew up in a red house buried in the trees, surrounded by the company of animals both domestic and wild. Her father was a thrill-seeker and took their family on many adventures, while her mother instilled a fascination with the spiritual and holy places. These elements rooted in her subconscious an affinity towards nature, symbolism and mythology. They inspire her art and give her a visual language to create her own stories and archetypes, personifying our emotions and fears both bright and dark. Kelley earned a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2001, and her MFA in 2010 from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. Her first major show was with Last Rites Gallery in 2014. She also shows at Lovetts Gallery in OK and participates in numerous group shows at other venues throughout the year.
