Infected by Art Book - Volume 12

Taking a moment to introduce myself. I am George H Hayes III, an artist whose work spans from fine art to fantasy. My creations spring forth and take shape almost daily while in my studio. I am self-taught, starting years ago in acrylics and now predominantly work in oils canvas and masonite panels. I draw inspiration from my life and memories from over the years, oftentimes with an alternative view such as ships flying over worlds that never were or the impressionistic view of a cityscape just after a storm. My subjects range from Steampunk, the Fantastical, the Mythical, to the realistic of Places and Portraits. I may create my world in hyper-detail to leaving much to the imagination depending on what I wish to evoke from my piece. Individuals often categorize my work as Steampunk, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Victorian and ever Swashbuckler style: I embrace it all as I incorporate some and/ or all of these aesthetics.
I often create custom, hand painted frames for some of my original paintings and canvas reproductions. These are an extension of the art and therefore I do not sell the frames outside of my work. They are meant to enhance and compliment the pieces that I choose to present in this way.
