Description
This painting was created as the cover art for the Indonesian edition of Afterworlds, written by Scott Westerfeld I took the inspiration from the duality of the characters and reimagining them into a kind of psychedelic Rorschach's pattern, with the silhouette of a skull hidden within them as death was quite a central theme for the book. The colour palette was inspired by the rainbow sheen you observe on oily surfaces, which pays tribute to another element inside the book. Watercolor, Gouache and Photoshop. 2018.
