Taarna is one of the characters in the personal project that I have been developing over the last 12 months. The story is called World War Fae and she is one of thirteen fae in this contemporary fairy tale. Taarna in her simplest form is a representation of nature and the seasons and her powers are entwined with those of time. She is one of the first characters that was developed in a purely visual sense, a great deal of work has been done on the project since she was painted with a deeper reference to real world mythology. She was first painted in acrylic and scanned. It was a few months later when taking a look at her with fresh eyes that I felt there were a few structural changes that needed to be made, these were done digitally using Photoshop CS
