About the Artist

Member Since October 2024

Projects: Krisztina Lazar is an Imaginary Realist artist primarily working in oil paint, watercolor and drawing. She is a Mische Technique lineage holder, a mixture of oil and egg tempera painting revolutionized by modern master, Ernst Fuchs. This technique creates an opalescent under painting that the colors are then glazed over, rendering each painting out of light rather than shadow, bringing the images to life with fractal clarity.

Location: Vallejo, CA

Description

Animals of fur and feather snuggle their babes close when they sleep. It is in our nature to do the same. There are a lot of things in our nature to do as mothers that our culture tells us is wrong. Mermaids are both human and animal, uniting opposing parts of our human condition. This symbolically can facilitate healing so we may honor, support with societal infrastructure, and shape culture to allow mothers to mother their babes and ensure a vibrant, grounded, and integrated future.
