Description
We have an old house (stone and wood, close to a hundred years old) and it makes a lot of noises settling from warm to cool this time of year. I imagine lots of things that could make those noises in the middle of the longer nights — smallish creatures who can live inside worn boots or long neglected cabinets, coming out after dark to rummage for scraps of cloth, dog-hair, lint, dead beetle husks, all the things they find useful.
