For many people in the creative fields, the idea of the muse is profound and significant. This series pays homage and gratitude to our muses for their years of inspiration and also explores the idea of the many faces of the muse - the many ways in which inspiration manifests. “Ktisis,” a collaborative sculpture by Kristine and Colin Poole, represents the artist’s muse and the many faces with which she shows herself. “Ktisis,” Greek for ‘creation,’ is the force which stirs creativity. On her back is our vision of the creature that takes the artist on the ‘flight of fancy’ - the euphoric experience of the moments of inspiration. This sculpture debuted in The National Sculpture Society’s “83rd Annual Awards Exhibition” - the nation’s premier show recognizing contemporary sculpture with only 43 works selected for the exhibition from the 980 submitted sculptures and will also be featured in “Spectrum 24: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art.”
