Harbinger of Pestilence--- Trade brought disease. That did not begin with the Americas, it was always there. I did not want my harbinger to have a clear role. Is she a wife waiting for her husband, a daughter waiting for her father or simply a prostitute? Is the ship coming or going? The clothing colors were chosen not only to groove with the background visually, but also to hint at skin colors in illness. The mask is toward the back because the ship may carry sickness or she may. There is a rat of course. Sometimes you need to go with tropes.
