Garette Johnson earned her B.F.A.(2004) in fashion design and illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA. She Suplimented her studies while dabbling in the sequential art department learning visual storytelling and concept design. She has collaborated with corporate and private clients including Hasbro and gaming companies to develop concepts and illustration for a multitude of commercial products. Garette currently works full time as a fashion designer in NYC and continues to design, paint and draw in her studio during the witching hours of the night.

| Projects: | Mutually inspired by fashion and the supernatural world; her work delights in the absurd, ironic and beauty of the feminine spirit. She is proficient with many traditional forms, and chooses her media based on an emotional quality she seeks to express in the subject. The immediacy of watercolor and oil bars allow for a dynamic response while an acrylic glazing process enhances a more reflective interpretation. It is her intention to convey a pure and empathetic expression of the human condition. |
