Description
The &ldquo Old Hag&rdquo that sheds her skin at night to roam the land as a ball of fire and suck the blood and life essence of the innocent. She uses her skin to protect herself from daylight and if she is caught out of it when day breaks, she will never be able to return to her disguise. She will eventually wither and die. It is said, that if a Soucouyant is known to be terrorizing a village, one must spill one hundred pounds of salt along the edge of the village. She will be forced to count every grain before she is able to pass and hopefully, the sun will come up before she finishes. To this day, people along the countryside claim to see balls of fire roaming the night and believe that it is the &ldquo Old Hag&rdquo looking for her next victim.
