"Ferris Wheel" is about the experiences of a child protected by its mother. The emotions chosen for this work are mainly positive ones, from searching, to happiness, with perhaps only one of retaliation for some undescribed slight. The Ferris Wheel is typically viewed as a carnival ride of joy and pleasant feelings, as one rises up to the top and some cool view of the world as though from a mountain top. Other people around the base of the wheel look on, mostly uninvolved with the child's unique experience. The giant head is giant in the real world as it is from a now destroyed sculpture of Constantine, a Roman Emperor from the Eastern Roman Empire based in what is now Istanbul.
